Some people compare Door County, Wisconsin to Cape Cod. However, that is misleading because there is no other place like Door County. It has more shoreline than any other county in the United States, more rare plant and animals than any County in Wisconsin and spectacular scenery year round. It is, therefore, not surprising to discover more artists in Door County than most places in the States. People come to Northern Door County to enjoy 4 beautiful seasons: Summer recreation, spectacular Fall colors, Winter peace, and Spring's emerging flowers.
At the corner of highway A at 42, Peninsula Park-View had the choice location by Peninsula State Park's quiet middle entrance, providing peaceful biking and hiking past the golf course in over 4,000 acres of the Park.
The central location provides easy access to the little villages without the traffic hassles and late night noises. It is just minutes from
attractions that Northern Door County is famous for: incredible photo opportunities in 5
state parks, 28 protected areas, and numerous county and village parks. Besides outdoor
recreation and water activities, guests enjoy classes for the creative, outstanding music, art galleries, theater, festivals,
and fish boils. It is also the closest lodge to one of the few remaining outdoor
movie theaters and is near the the medical center, YMCA, Peninsula Art School,
American Folklore Theater, Door Community Auditorium and has easy access to Peninsula Players'
Theater, Shakespeare Theater, and Birch Creek Music.
Some activities are only offered during high and mid season, making the quiet season unbelievably peaceful in Northern Door County. |

Peninsula
Park-View
is an historical resort because it was the first motel in Door County, built in 1951. A former owner, Herbie Hardt, said the builder, Albin Ohman brought the idea back from a trip to Arizona. He said local governments tried to stop the building because they thought individual little rooms would be a house of ill repute. Of course that never happened and it became, not only the first motel, but also the first to have an outdoor pool, the first to offer free bicycles, the first to offer high speed internet access in every room, and the first to have photo processing and custom framing on site.
Peninsula Park-View
was formerly known as Twin Oaks Country Lodge, The Dawn Breaker, Herbie Hardt's Motel and Enchanteau. The name Peninsula Park-View was chosen, not only
because there have been many upgrades, but also because it is the closest motel to most activities in the Park.
Known as the emerald of Parks, thousands of acres in Peninsula State Park
offer seven miles of shoreline, seventeen miles of scenic hiking and
biking trails, and endless photo opportunities. Peninsula Park-View is
only a wood and a nine iron from the park's championship 18 hole golf
course, overlooking Eagle Harbor in Ephraim. It is also the closest
lodge to Nicolet beach, the climbing tower, American Folklore Theater, the
boat launch, the nature center, boat rentals and closest to most campsites in the park.
The Resort offers free limited use of the 21 speed comfort bicycles, large outdoor heated pool, gathering lodge, fire pit and grills. It offers free wireless internet access in each unit and in the lodge. Computers may be used in the photo shop for half price. Guests receive a 15% discount on "Ephraim Swamp House" gifts, photo imaging, photography, framing and other services offered on site at Peninsula Photo Imaging. They will also receive a 10% discount at the famous Blue Horse Bistro. |
